About

Hi, I’m Mekhi Kalil.

I’ve always had the desire to create and communicate. When I was little, I was constantly making art—whether it was painting my two goldfish or chalking the entire solar system (Pluto included) in my grandparents’ driveway. That joy in creating has never left me.

I grew up in Hartselle, Alabama, a small town where football reigned supreme and opportunities for an “art kid” were limited. Still, I found ways to express myself: designing class t-shirts, helping paint murals for our school library, and volunteering at Panoply, an arts and music festival in Huntsville.

Though I initially entered Auburn University as an Architecture major, I quickly realized my passion was graphic design—where storytelling, problem-solving, and aesthetics meet. Since switching majors, I haven’t looked back. I’m currently pursuing my BFA in Graphic Design with a minor in Business, with particular interests in branding, advertising, and publication design. My portfolio reflects a love for clean, concept-driven work, but also a willingness to experiment and push beyond what’s expected.

Outside of design, you’ll likely find me exploring vintage shops, sipping matcha at a coffee spot, or serving with my local church. I’m inspired by the beauty that surrounds us and find joy in helping others see it, too.

Let’s connect! I’m always open to creative opportunities, collaboration, or just a great conversation.
